A new interactive website for students and the maritime industries has been launched by Warsash Maritime Academy (WMA). Developed by experts at Southampton Solent University, the new site has a range of interactive features such as social media feeds, current news and events, and videos showcasing WMA’s world leading facilities.
In addition to detailed course information, calendars and a dedicated cadet section, the website provides guidance on maritime careers, recruitment, research and support tools offered by WMA and its partners. It also features career progression charts designed to give clear guides on the best route and courses to choose.
It is designed to meet the needs of both prospective students interested in pursuing a maritime career and the maritime industries catered for by the Academy, including international shipping, commercial yachts (superyachts), offshore oil and gas, and renewable energy.
The site is available in mobile versions to make the information more readily accessible to international maritime industries catered for by WMA, particularly personnel working at sea.
Andrew Hair, director of Warsash Maritime Academy said, “As the only maritime education and training centre in the world currently able to offer such a comprehensive range of courses - for professional deck, engineer, electro-technical and hotel operations personnel - and business services to the maritime industries, we hope our new website will have a major impact within the industry over the coming year.”
