Yachting Pages has put several of the leading safety cases (and other associated products) to the test. The objective: to ascertain how each product performs and determine which one is best equipped to safely contain a lithium battery-induced fire.
British yard Princess Yachts has provided its first insight into Princess S78, the newest addition to its range of sportsbridge yachts.
The 24.6m vessel follows on from its successful predecessors, the S60, S65 and S72, and will be the largest S Class to date. The sportsbridge range is designed to combine the benefits of a flybridge with the profile and large sunroof of a sportscruiser.
The S78 will feature spacious and stylish accommodation for up to eight people across the owner’s suite, two double cabins and a portside twin cabin, while there will be space for up to two staff in the crew quarters.
It will boast a highly flexible cockpit with sliding seating, two large sunpads and comfortable seating areas in the flybridge and split foredeck area. This ensures that the S78 will be well equipped to entertain guests.
The S78 will be powered by a pair of 1,900hp MAN V12 engines, enabling the new sportsbridge to achieve a top speed of 39 knots.
Other projects currently under development at Princess’s yard in Plymouth include the 40M series and its recent spin-off, Mirage IV.
