Today ANWB announced plans for ANWB Boot Batavia, an on-water boat show organised for the first time from September 13th to the 17th this year in The Netherlands. The event is to attract 500 boats from Dutch yacht builders and international brands. ANWB expects 30,000 visitors. ANWB Boot Batavia is set to become the biggest on-water boat show in Northwest Europe.
This new boat show takes place in the Batavia harbour that was specially created for large scale yachting events and is conveniently located in Lelystad on the shores of the IJsselmeer, the largest yachting area in The Netherlands. ANWB Boot Batavia is ANWB’s answer to the frequently heard demand of yachting enthusiasts for an easily accessible and affordable boat show.
In Lelystad visitors will find a combination of newly built boats and used boats, each category in its own part of the harbour. ANWB focuses on both the beginning boating enthusiast and on experienced yachtsmen considering buying a new or used boat. The event is to take place in an enjoyable, nautical atmosphere and will be accompanied by various water sports activities. International visitors will enjoy combining a visit to the boat show with a visit to the lovely Batavia shipyard, where historic ships are restored to their old glory or to the adjacent Fashion Outlet Center Bataviastad. Both attractions are within walking distance of the boat show grounds. Lelystad is located just 35 minutes driving from Amsterdam. ANWB Boot Batavia can easily be reached from Schiphol Airport by public transport or by car from Germany.
The Royal Dutch Touring Club has nearly 4 million members and offers a unique mix of activities to lobby for its members’ interests in the areas of mobility, holidays and leisure time. The ANWB has broad experience in organising events for a large public.
