Last weekend, Marina Cap Cana reported the successful completion of the ninth edition of its Cap Cana Classic 2015 fishing tournament, with 35 fishermen from Aruba, Puerto Rico, United States, Venezuela, Mexico and Dominican Republic taking part in the event.

The first place winner in the category of Top Boat and Top Crew was the boat Black Gold from the United States, with twelve hundred points (1,200 points). Black Gold also claimed second place of the Cap Cana White Marlin tournament this year. Contango from the United States and Naira from Aruba came in second and third place, respectively.
In the individual category of Top Fisherman, Jose Gomez of Black Gold won with a total of 900 points, followed by Mario Kim of the Contango with 600 points and Mike McCarthy, also from Black Gold, with 300 points.
Marina Cap Cana has now officially reached the end of its 2015 fishing season. Contango was crowned title-holder of the first Dominican Billfish Triple Header, with 4,100 points accumulated throughout the three legs of the series.
This year's tournament was honoured by the attendance of Elvin Camacho, Commodore of the Boquerón Nautic Club of Puerto Rico, and Rick Alvares, known fisherman and organiser of the International BillFish Shoot Out, which was celebrated at Marina Cap Cana this past June.
It also had the support of the International Game Fish Association (IGFA), and was sponsored by brands such as President, Barcelo, PetroMovil, Coca Cola, Europcar, Scape Park, WT World Tours Planner, Alsol Hotels & Resorts to name but a few.
According to Marina Cap Cana, attendees enjoyed many social engagements, including the welcome cocktail, Fisherman's Plaza BBQ, Night Club at the Yacht Club and the Awards Ceremony.
In addition to this, there was a calendar of activities for crew and guests to enjoy, taking in the beauty of the Caribbean Sea through the special treatment of Waves Spa & Salon with gastronomical luncheons were organised at La Mona, Juanillo Beach Food and Drinks and Maraca restaurants.
